When I was new in Internet Marketing, I really think that ranking high in search engine only require me to insert a 100% keyword density meta tag. These are what all the gurus alway teach us: 1. Keyword, 2. Description 3. Search Engine Friendly URL! After a couper of months I realise that this doesn't enough!!! The only things that can make you rank higher in the Search Engine is the BACK LINK! A back link is any link received by a web node from another web node. Backlinks are also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links. A back link with good keyword targeted anchor text is the secret for high Page Rank! Search engines use the number of back links that a website has as one of the factors for determining that website's search engine ranking. Here comes the idea of Link Exchange! Link Exchanging is the process of exchanging text links or banner links between websites. Webmasters exchange links to improve traffic through numerous inbound links so users on other websites can click through. Exchanging links is normally a free process (but some of the link exchange programs do charging a fee). One of the free link exchange method is Reciprocal Link. A reciprocal link is a mutual link between two objects, commonly between two websites in order to ensure mutual traffic. Example: You have websites. If your website links to my website, and my website links to your website, the websites are reciprocally linked. Website owners often submit their sites to reciprocal link exchange directories in order to achieve higher rankings in the search engines. Reciprocal linking between websites became an important part of the search engine optimization process thanks to the link popularity algorithm PageRank employed by Google, which ranks websites for relevancy dependent on the number of links that led to a particular page and the anchor text of the link. Now your might wonder, what is the anchor text? Anchor text is a keyword which is a clickable text in a hyperlink. It is the text a user clicks when clicking a link on a web page. For example, you have a website selling Spirulina, and your targeted keyword is organic Spirulina, thus your anchor text will be Organic Spirulina (mouse over to the anchor text and see the link).
